He changed the subject to energy efficiency.
He sat there once after midnight and realized no amount of access would answer the original question: who was he when nobody was giving him orders. He could own a city and still be a product reacting to its packaging. The thought was humiliating. Worse, it was boringly plausible. He left the chair and spent the night walking the district without an escort.
